Hi, my name is Beaven Ankner-Edelstein and I am a huge nerd about science.
Kano Therapeutics
I worked in platform development and strain engineering at Kano Therapeutics for four years. There I developed new production methods, assays, and over 292 strains for fermentation-based production of cssDNA. I engineered an 1100x increase in production yields of the system while eliminating contaminants, enabling the production of highly complex sequences, and preparing GMP-ready cell banks. My work included extensive assay development and molecular biology including developing novel cloning methods. I am so lucky to have had Christian Burns, Floris Engelhardt and Greg Foley as my mentors in this time.

Trinity College Dublin
I studied at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland from 2018-2022 at the Smurfit Institute of Genetics. There I had the chance to cut my teeth on science and biology. I mined databases with Professor Seamus Martin, explored gene therapy with Professor Gwyneth Farrar, and completed my thesis work on GWAS analysis of ALS sub-phenotypes with Professor Russell McLaughlin.
